On Friday December 9th 2011, The Bank of Nevis Limited celebrated its 26th Anniversary.

On Monday December 5, 2011, The Bank of Nevis Limited commenced operations from its new location, in the northern building adjacent to its old premises. The refurbishing of the building (formerly the Tony’s Supermarket) started in June 2010 just after a ground breaking ceremony to officially launch construction.

The Board of Directors of The Bank of Nevis Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Everette Hanley to the staff of the Bank. Mr. Hanley joined the management team as Assistant Credit Manager effective Monday October 3, 2011.

Mr. K-Jel Smithen, a recent graduate of The St. Thomas’ Primary School is the proud recipient of The Bank of Nevis Limited Simeon Daniel Scholarship for 2011. Mr. Smithen received his scholarship during a brief ceremony held on Friday September 2, 2011 in the Bank’s conference room.

The Bank of Nevis Limited (the ‘Bank’) held its 24th Annual General Meeting at Occasions on Thursday April 28, 2011.

The Nevis Island Administration in conjunction with the Postal Authorities salutes The Bank of Nevis Limited on the celebration of its 25th Anniversary. A special commemorative stamp issue was released to commemorate the event.

The Nevis Blind Light and Visually Impaired Society was the recipient of a monetary donation from The Bank of Nevis (BON) Social Club during a brief presentation ceremony held in the Bank’s conference room on Monday December 20, 2010. This donation represents the proceeds from a charity walk-a-thon which was organized and held in November 2010 as part of The Bank of Nevis Limited’s 25th Anniversary celebrations.

On Thursday December 9th, 2010, The Bank of Nevis Limited celebrated its 25th Anniversary. In honour of its Anniversary, a week of activities was held under the theme: “Keeping Our Communities Alive… Through Sound Financial Strides… BON at 25!

The Bank of Nevis Limited was named ‘Business of the Year’ for 2010 by the Nevis branch of the Hotel and Tourism Association (HTA). The award was presented in front of a distinguished audience of government officials, hospitality leaders and tourism officials at the HTA’s first ever Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Party held Monday November 22, 2010 at the historic Golden Rock Hotel.

At a Special Meeting of The Bank of Nevis Limited held on Thursday 21 October, 2010, shareholders of the Company approved a recommendation by the Board of Directors to make a bonus share issue to existing shareholders of one share for every four shares already held in the Company.

Following the news of the catastrophic 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti on Tuesday January 12, 2010, The Bank of Nevis Limited announced that it had established an account to accept donations from the general public to assist the victims and relief effort underway.

The third Annual Bank of Nevis Limited Summer Cricket Coaching Clinic is set to begin on Monday July 12th, 2010. This was proudly confirmed today when Marketing Officer, Mrs. Bronte Swanston-Hendrickson handed over a sponsorship cheque to former West Indies player and Sports Officer in the Ministry of Sports, Mr. Carl Tuckett during a brief ceremony held on Wednesday, July 7th 2010 in the Bank’s board room.

The Bank of Nevis Limited turned a new chapter in its 25 year history on Monday June 21, 2010 when it broke ground to formally launch the construction of its new banking premises. The ground breaking ceremony which began at 4:30 pm was held on Main Street, Charlestown immediately in front of the Bank’s current premises.

In celebration of the Bank’s 25th Anniversary and in honour of one of the Bank’s pioneering members, Dr. Simeon Daniel, The Bank of Nevis Limited proudly launched its scholarship fund, appropriately named The Bank of Nevis Limited Simeon Daniel Scholarship at a brief ceremony held Friday September 3, 2010 in the Bank’s conference room. Scholarships were awarded to two students entering secondary school namely, Lauju Huggins who will be attending the Charlestown Secondary School and Dymon Browne who will be attending the Gingerland Secondary School.

Caribbean Association of Indigenous Banks Inc. (CAIB) has elected a new Board of Directors to continue its mandate over the coming two years (2008 – 2010). The election took place two weeks ago during the Association’s 35th Annual General Meeting, held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Barbados.
